Located in Kunshan, 30 miles away from Suzhou downtown, the 2000-years’ Qiandeng town is the oldest in Kunshan. The town is characterized by the layout of “the parallel of rivers and roads, and streets bordering rivers”: water alleys, ports, bridges, corridors and courtyards connect with each other, and residences stand by the river. There exist abundant historical and cultural relics, including Gu Yanwu’s Tomb, Shaoqing Mountain and Qinfeng Pagoda, the Yu’s Pawnshop, and Stone Slate Street.
